Site extremely slow after update from 3.9.5 to 3.9.7

Hello, I've updated WPLMS from version 3.9.5 to 3.97, along with all plugins and the site loading time became extremely slow (index.php went from 5-6 seconds to 30+ seconds). I've tried to measure the site performance with GTMetrix but GTMetrix couldn't analyze it ("connection problem"). I had to restore my backup and return to version 3.9.5, but I would like some guidance so I can upgrade properly. Thank you. Rodrigo

Well this is strange . Please consider upgrading your php version to atleast 7.2 or 7.0 . Also install this plugin "query monitor" refer this tip to know which plugin is actually putting load on your server : https://kinsta.com/blog/query-monitor/ we need to have some data exactly which slowing down your website .
