Unit Assignment Textbox Option does not work

On each of my course units I have an assignment. The assignment is just to read a chapter of a book. I don't need them to attach anything to their assignment or do anything at all, but the only options I have are to attach something or use the textbox.  So I chose "textbox" -- but no checkbox shows on the unit page when taking the course. The student cannot move on because there is no way to enter "I read the assignment."  How can I fix this?

hello dear, sorry for the delay in response due to holiday. can you please share some screenshots/video of the issue you are facing. it will help us to replicate the same on your site. and also provide urls of the course,quiz,assignment on which we can test the same.
