For some reason I am not able to upload files/images in front end as an instructor. I have tried with my admin account and it works.
Have looked at permission settings for upload folder and they are set to 755 on folders and 644 on files.
Have some code in customizer plugin but I have removed them in my dev site but that didn´t fix it.
Do you have any clue?

I can add that the upload is running, but when it has been upload it says "there was an error in the upload, please try again later". If the instructor reloads the page and go to Add Media again then the image is showing in the Media Library.
Unable to replicate the issue at our end and neither any user have reported this issue ever on support forums .
Please try deactivating third party plugins in your site and check the issue again .
I have now done some tests.
Have installed a old version of WPLMS 2.0.7 on a sub-domain, no third party plugins are installed. I am able to upload images and files as an instructor. I then upgrade the theme and plugins to the latest version 2.0.9.3 for theme and 2.0.9.1 for plugins. Then I am no longer able to upload images.
So for my point of view it seems to be something with the theme and your plugins.
I have created a video in order to show you that it works on a older version but not after an upgrade.

It is working just fine at our setup please check :

I guess in your site a main capability is removed from the instructor role .
Please check this by adding this plugin :

Hi Alex,
I found the issue, at least in my installation.
It has to do with the "WP Admin area access" in WPLMS - Buddypress settings. I had this set to only administrators. If I change it to All, or Instructor/Administrator then it works with uploads on my site.
Can you try on your site?
Yes it won't work for you because you have restricted the instructors from accessing the wp admin area and when you try to upload anything then the user has to access the media library which is a part of wp admin area.
