change students into instructors and add groups

Dear Alex, We have talked about this before. I want my online teachers to see the results/progress of only their students (not all students on my site). For this to be possible I have to change a teacher with a student account into an author to my course(s) so that he can view results but not change content. However, I don't have that option in course admin. I can't add authors. Please help. And. The information on creating closed groups is very difficult to understand. I've read and tried this multiple times. How can I get this done?   Thanks, Gijs

I can't add students as authors? Do they have to register as teachers/instructors for them to be added as authors?

yes you would need to change their user role to instructor by editing them from wp-admin => users page .
