March 18, 2019 at 10:42 am #201060italymadeeasySpectatorhi there, our fillblank questions do not seem to recognize apostrophes in the anwers. We have the latest version of all WPLMS plugins and Theme and, despite the latest version saying that it fixed the issue with apostrophes, users are still unable to get their answers right when they include an apostrophe. Our language has accented vowels (like àèé0ìù) and many of our students do not have those characters on their keyboard so we need to allow them to type these vowels as: a', e', i', o', u' We have obvioubsly included all possible answers in the answers section. But it does not work. We found a similar forum post here where some customizer code was shared and we tried using that, with no success. Moreover, in order to fix this, we suggested users copy tthe word with the accented vowel from the page and paste it into the blank space. The result is hilarious.... https://www.useloom.com/share/f00aceee2f9b45e5820b90806183adf1 What can we do? CheersMarch 19, 2019 at 12:18 pm #201249Anshuman SahuKeymasterokay can you please share the question edit link to check this up ?March 20, 2019 at 3:19 am #201328italymadeeasySpectatorThis is the question <h1>Marco è [magro] [fillblank] Michele</h1> and these are the possible answers: più magro di, Più magro di, PIÙ MAGRO DI, piu' magro di, Piu' magro di, PIU' MAGRO DI https://cl.ly/558095 Please note that the issue is not just with this question but with any question that has an apostrophe in the answer. Also, noticed another problem that has nothing to do with apostrophe. This question: <h1>Maria è [allegro] [fillblank] Michele</h1> has the following possible answers in the settings: allegra come, allegra quanto, Allegra come, Allegra quanto, ALLEGRA COME, ALLEGRA QUANTO But only the answers with the COME option are accepted https://www.useloom.com/share/7b4bafe80620461e942241390aea6d38 No idea what is happening! Please help! Before customers start bombarding us with support requests! CheersMarch 20, 2019 at 7:23 am #201387MkModeratorWhile adding possible answer please make sure to not give a space between answers. For ex :
- Option1, Option2, Option3 ====> WRONG( As there is space after comma(,)).
- Option1,Option2,Option3 ====> RIGHT ( No space)
March 21, 2019 at 4:12 am #201488italymadeeasySpectatorHi and thanks. That worked. We solved the second issue, but we are still struggling with the apostrophe in the answers. I changed our answer from più magro di, piu' magro di to più magro di,piu' magro di but we are still getting a wrong anwer when typing the apostrophe.March 21, 2019 at 4:14 am #201490italymadeeasySpectatorAlso, copying and pastying anything into the answer field ends up with the thing copied being pasted 11 times https://cl.ly/eb5cc6March 23, 2019 at 1:46 pm #201701MkModeratorplease give us some time to check.March 26, 2019 at 12:49 am #201953italymadeeasySpectatorFor sure! Not too concerned about the issue with the copying and pasting. The urgent problem is with the apostrphe! CheersMarch 26, 2019 at 1:58 pm #202063Anshuman SahuKeymasterI checked it and found that when you copy and paste it .It does not works as it takes the character encoding of the copied html and the meaning of ' gets changed . see the video : https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cqeOIP0LVHMarch 27, 2019 at 10:47 am #202169italymadeeasySpectatorNevermind the copying and pasting. We only resorted to that for our students since adding an apostrophe inside the answer field did not work. I saw your video but I wonder if you also tries the scenario per a word ends and an apostrophe followed by a space and then another word: Piu' bello Your video only shows the apostrophe between two adjacent letters, like: Piu'bello But that is not how the students will enter their answers , at least for our language. CheersMarch 28, 2019 at 1:11 pm #202318Anshuman SahuKeymasterWell again I checked it as you said and still its working : https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cqeuIX0PqLApril 3, 2019 at 2:23 am #202984italymadeeasySpectatorHi and thanks for showing me it actually does work on your site. We still can't get it to work so I will need to pass this to my developer. Any tips I could give me to start looking in the right place for the issue responsible for this odd behaviour? This is another test of ours, with a brand new question. https://cl.ly/57ba5d Listed on the side of the question you can see the possible answers that we entered in the backend. Something I have never mentioned to you before is that we are using these questions as practice questions, within a lesson, not inside an actual quiz. Have you checked that option too? CheersApril 3, 2019 at 12:11 pm #203070loganMemberHello, Please share your page url and credentials. i am not able to log in. i will check it at my end. Most probably it could be keyboard key character encoding issue.April 11, 2019 at 8:40 am #204141italymadeeasySpectatorThis reply has been marked as private.April 11, 2019 at 9:42 pm #204215italymadeeasySpectatorThis reply has been marked as private. -
