Hi Diana,
good news! The activation mail sending etc seems to work now! I was pointing to our hosting provider and they where pointing back to the latest Wordpress 5.7 that caused this script error not sending php mail (). I installed an SMTP Mailer to circumvent the php script and all seems to run fine.
Back to the styling Page issues. I'm looking for the css for this activation page please: https://prnt.sc/10q008o can you help there please?

maybe edit the activation p[age in WP admin - pages and down below content screen locate the sidebar you want to show in the activation page. That should fix the issue.

I tried. I got rid of the comments that way! This already solved my next problem :-)

I now deactivated activation mail and it still sends out activation mails to self register the new user: :-( https://prnt.sc/10qt0bk
...the user can register with the activation mail without approval!!! ....?!
Your decisions are changing here, please confirm whether you want to use the manually approve users?

Or Automatic Registration without any email and approval?
