for the upgrade failed it is a temporary issue which happens when the envato Api is down or the network connection between your server and Amazon s3 servers is slow.
try to upgrade after some time and the issue would be resolved.

Yes, you can delete slider revolution plugin.
Default setup uses layer slider plugin.
These are the two most used slider plugins by the WordPress users, so to provide users an option , we provide two slider plugins.
