The template selected for that page is "barebones" i.e. no header or footer. I feel that the dashboard setup is not sufficient and leaves students stranded and not knowing what to do in case of problems. I would therefore like to be able to have the normal menu (main) at the top of the dashboard. I have tried changing the template but the menu appears for a moment as then disappears. Is there some way I can have a solution for this problem or perhaps make the profile menu more complete. There too all of my attempts to make it more useful have failed. Thank you AndrewOctober 3, 2021 at 5:25 am #371968MrVibeKeymasterThe BP single page is the page which converts into the mobile app , desktop app. If we connect a regular WP menu on top, it leads to single page and the app stores reject apps which connect to regular website directly. In case you do not have any plans to launch an app, then you can switch the template to any other. It is the membership area of your students where students would get all data connected to your courses. Do note that all your users, from School administrator to instructors and students will use this area as an App. You can create student specific profile menu and dashboards which show only relevant information. You can even further customise the member menu and dashboard by using Member types [ WP admin - users - member types ] see video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53HIhssXBVI&t=1sOctober 3, 2021 at 6:54 am #371974mlapl1ParticipantThank you @Mr.Vibe. That is all very interesting. I am not sure whether I will need an app in the short term but I guess I will in the long term. I have successfully installed wplms on a different theme but it lacks a few things that are helpful such as the WPLMS menu in the WP dashboard, including switching the registration page easily and turning off the wp-admin bar. I believe that I have successfully added a link to a normal page in the student's dropdown menu but I have not managed to do this from the normal student profile menu. The problem I am trying to solve is that once a student enters the dashboard, they are stuck there and cannot navigate the website in order, for instance, to go the the course directory and enrol in a new course. OR... maybe it's just that I do not know how to do it. I am aware of the possibility of member types and have used them, but I believe that in order to do that the best way is through a custom registration page. Accessing a custom registration page on a non-wplms theme has an additional complication of requiring adding code to the customization plugin. So... it is probably better to try and stick with the wplms theme until I learn how to control it properly. Thank you AndrewOctober 4, 2021 at 1:11 pm #372023Anshuman SahuKeymasterWe understand , for such a case you can simply change the page template to the one you like with header other than barebones template . Also check if you have enable remove header/footer from wp-admin -> appearance -> vibebp customizer -> general .October 5, 2021 at 3:25 am #372066mlapl1ParticipantThank you very much. For the moment, I think that I have found some workarounds but will also keep your suggestions in mind. Please note that in both installations with WPLMS theme and a different theme, I do not have access to vibebp customizer in the appearance menu: vibebp customizer simply does not appear. For practical reasons, I will probably use w non-WPLMS theme at this stage. cheers andrewOctober 5, 2021 at 2:32 pm #372119Anshuman SahuKeymasterThis reply has been marked as private.October 6, 2021 at 2:52 pm #372193mlapl1ParticipantThanks a lots Alex.
