May 1, 2019 at 11:24 pm #207187pabloliz4SpectatorHello I have a serious problem and I would like your help. I work with Articulate to create the units of the courses that I have in platform. My client is demanding that the student not advance to the next unit without having seen all the slides of the unit developed in Articulate. If you reach the end of the unit (articulate) you should activate the next unit without having to click on MARK THIS UNIT AS COMPLETE The problem is that WPLMS has only two options to advance in the course. 1) the next unit is activated when the first one is seen, and so on. LMS configuration: "The automatic marking of the unit is completed when the user moves on to the next unit". 2) or that the student click on MARK THIS UNIT AS COMPLETE. I used these instructions: https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/preparing-articulate-storyline-to-automatically-mark-unit-complete/ The example file can not be downloaded here: https://wplms.io/support/forums/topic/preparing-articulate-storyline-to-automatically-advance-to-next-unit/ And the script that you use for tests is in this link: https://wplms.io/support/forums/topic/hide-mark-complete-button-in-combination-with-articulate-script/ This one I liked, since it hides the button MARK THIS UNIT AS COMPLETE and allows that in Articulate by means of JavaScript on an internal button, the unit can be completed in platform. Another point, if the student advances, my client would need that each unit is activated in an orderly manner according to number, unit1, unit2, unidat3, etc, I need to be linear the navigation of the almuno, so I condition it to see all the content of the course . The configuration "Automatic marking of the unit is completed when the user moves to the next unit" is in LMS / Configuration. It serves, it is not bad option, but the student could mark all the units in 4 seconds and the platform would register that it saw all the content of the course ... not being true ... If the course has a Questionnaire, this would serve to measure what the user has learned. At that moment the student is put to the test if he really learned the pedagogical content. My client needs the student to really see what he needs to learn and WPLMS works very well, but I can not find the solution so that the units created in Articulate can communicate with the platform and record if he completely saw the contents of the unit. If there is a solution, I would appreciate it very much. And I think it's important to you, too. If you could review the course and the platform in case something is happening, I would appreciate it. Units created with an articulate function erratically. They are activated if the browser window or something like this is updated. In the next post I include the accesses, data of the platform and the articulate file. Greetings and I remain attentive to your comments. Avoid user from marking unit complete before he vists the slide b. Avoid user from progressing into other units before allocating sufficient amount of time in units. For a. the solution is as correctly identified : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/preparing-articulate-storyline-to-automatically-mark-unit-complete/ For b. my suggestion would be convert the course into drip course. Set the drip duration as dynamic. Dynamic drip duration takes into account the unit duration value. So, lets say you have a unit A which has articulate embedded in it, you can set a minimum duration which the user should allocate on the content as Unit duration in unit settings. Now since the course is on drip with dynamic values, the user can not progress to next unit in the course without spending the unit duration time on the unit. Check below video for details on Drip courses : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHLAlEnGcts for the last part : "I can not find the solution so that the units created in Articulate can communicate with the platform and record if he completely saw the contents of the unit." if you publish the articulate package for xAPI and connect it with WPLMS API, you will be able to see what all slides are visited by the student in the student and course activity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFtnlzu7nVA
