Bulk Import feature deleted question instead of adding

Hi, i'm trying to add questions through bulk import, however despite following steps found https://vibethemes.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/1000165107-bulk-import-export-wplms-via-csv, not only that didnt work, my existing qn gets deleted:

• new question didnt get added
• existing question gets deleted

Here are the steps of what I did:

1. Export questions to .csv
2. Modify the .csv to have different title, qn, answer, explanation, etc
3. Save the .csv
4. Import

What happened:

• The exported question gets deleted
• The imported question is nowhere to be seen.

hi, i am trying to import/export questions on your site

as you can see that result previous question deleted and new questions were added with the same ID
so what we have do is just change the id too.

Hi Veronica, But what is the id that I should use? if I see it here, they are not in order https://prnt.sc/tjlhyi "id must be unique for the question in order to import new question and not to update the same post with same id" Are you saying that I can just use any number that are not listed in question? like for example 819? because it looks to me the IDs are also related to course/unit/quizzes/assignments/etc And also, there is already an assignment with ID= 819, will that cause problem? This is confusing.

But what is the id that I should use? the id can be anything except its not present in the database already . You can put any unique value for each question in order to import them. But please maintain one unique for one question content and its settings .

Hi Alex/Veronica, I've figured out that setting the id empty works as well. Finding that unique id is hard for admins who don't have technical knowledge on db query, and here is no easy export of all ids to find out which ids canNOT be used. Next, trying with a unique id for question doesn't work, as you mentioned, if the id happens to belong to either quiz, course or assignment. I've tried this before and didn't realise the id belongs to an assignment, which caused my assignment to disappear and had to go database to correct it. Anyway, I've figured out that leaving the id empty will get the system to auto generate the unique id. Saves me all the potential clashes/deletion/problems. Hope this helps anyone out there having similar issues. You may close this thread.
