How to use Child theme and Parent both ? (Steps)

Hi, I am using Godaddy Managed WP hosting. There are two zip files i have received on purchasing the theme licence 1) themeforest-6780226-wplms-learning-management-system (zip) 2) themeforest-6780226-wplms-learning-management-system-wordpress-theme (Zip) I have uploaded the 2nd file (mentioned for WP). then i have to upload child theme (Blankchildtheme) Then Activated the Child theme. Then Run Setup wizard. am i right or i need to follow the different steps . I want to use sliders (should i upload sliders files also separately , If yes then from plugin or theme or media upload? Regards
