July 18, 2020 at 3:08 pm #275582wiebkewetzelSpectatorHello, I did the update to 4.0 yesterday. Now the login on the top right is not working any longer. Also for logged in users the menu at the same position doesn't open. I could access the student and instructor dashboards by right-clicking on the name and choosing "open link in a new tab". From there I can access everything apart from the logout link. Everything else seems to run as before. In the forum I couldn't find solutions for the issue, but I noticed that other people are having them as well. Please support me in getting this resolved. Thanks, WiebkeJuly 18, 2020 at 3:51 pm #275599wiebkewetzelSpectatorThis reply has been marked as private.July 19, 2020 at 4:30 pm #275681silatjunkieParticipantI am having this same issue.July 19, 2020 at 6:37 pm #275691ahmedbohotyParticipantI have the same issue , Please try to hepJuly 20, 2020 at 4:46 am #275761DianaParticipant@silatjunkie and @ahmedbohoty Replied on your topics, please check @wiebkewetzel The Setup which is required to be done is not proper Did you properly follow the videos? Otherwise ping us hereJuly 20, 2020 at 7:05 pm #275998wiebkewetzelSpectatorHello Diana, The site and the login did work perfectly fine before the update to 4.0. Thus I don't agree that it has anything to do with the things you pointed out. I did watch many videos, but not even close to all of them. I did look some things up in the docs on github and here in the forum instead. I can't find anything on the blank layout - neither in the settings nor in the documentation. Which tutorials of the more than 240 should I watch to find the information on blank layouts? I have run the setup wizard once more (at least the third time now) and this time the VibePB and WPLMS plugins were installed. But now VibeBP requires Elementor to be installed and activated. Does this cause a conflict with the existing Gutenberg content on my website? I have purchased this theme because it was labeled to be Gutenberg compatible and I would be very unhappy if I had to rebuild all pages! I also would prefer to continue with Gutenberg as I quite like it. I have an existing website and migrating it to Gutenberg did cost me a week last year. Which old plugins should I deactivate to resolve the issue? Can you please be a bit more precise? This theme has an extremely cluttered admin interface with the main settings being located at 3 or more locations (customizer, WPLMS settings and LMS settings plus Buddypress, BBpress, ...). That makes it fairly difficult for new users of the theme. Thanks, WiebkeJuly 21, 2020 at 1:39 am #276033silatjunkieParticipantI had chosen all the blank layouts, the two plugins, and deactivated the others. It didn't work for my setup. I ended up spending a day rolling back to 3.9.8 bc I have users who need access. Even the page for all courses wasn't displaying properly. Courses were only displaying when you selected a category. Login didn't work and it messed with my layout. Pretty disappointing. I'd like to try again, but need to spend a day or so just watching videos I guess....July 21, 2020 at 9:27 am #276184wiebkewetzelSpectatorHello Diana, I have found the upgrade instructions and tutorials on upgrading to 4.0 . Sorry for not watching them before. My site is set to automatic theme and plugin updates and thus the update did run in the background. I dismissed the welcome screen as it normally is just full of praise for the new version. Sorry for that misjudgement. Just one tip: thee most important video on how to upgrade the site is hidden in the FAQs. It deserves more visibility. That (or a link to the video in your answer) would have prevented me writing that angry post last night. I am still a bit annoyed as the 4.0 page states that one doesn't need to deactivate the old plugins and that installing WPLMS and Vibe BP is not mandatory. Thus I don't find it fair to be told that I made mistakes. And apparently one cannot do without Vibe BP, as that will break the student login. I have now installed Vibe BP and Elementor. The WPLMS-Plugin was installed already, you may have overlooked it. I have set VibePB to synchronize with WP login and to enable global login. Login works again. Also I have followed the steps in the video such as setting blank pages in the customizer. I have not yet designed the course page etc. in Elementor (thus I will go back to the old page layouts in the customizer until I have time for that). Two things are still not working: For forums the video tells me that I need the plugin Vibe-helpdesk (min 11:54). Unfortunately without any further information provided. The plugin was not installed during the upgrade. Where can I get it from? I have created a login and profile menu as described in the video (minute 10:04). Again that video doesn't provide a lot of information on this important step. The links in that menu still don't work and I guess that I didn't do it correctly. Thanks for your support, WiebkeJuly 21, 2020 at 2:18 pm #276282Scott LangModeratorYes for bbpress feature we have build a vibe-helpdesk plugin .It will be release soon. Also we have created articles for 4.0 refer this:https://wplms.io/support/article-categories/4-0/ You can add menu items from here:https://prnt.sc/tlyjmv After changing this you need to do this to admin profile like (?reload_nav=1) this:http://localhost/vibebpnew/members-directory-2/admin/?reload_nav=1July 22, 2020 at 10:55 am #276647wiebkewetzelSpectatorHi Scott, over night the next weird thing happened: test users couldn't login any longer. The only user being able to login was me (site owner). As I was desperate I did the roll back to 3.x. I did everything as described on this page. But I am still having two issues:
- The student login doesn't work. I can click onto the button as much as I want, nothing will happen. The Vibe BP plugin is deactivated.
- The Profile Menu doesn't show for logged-in users (aka admins who can log in through the backend). It did work before the upgrade to 4.0.

After finding out that I was still in 4.0 and not 3.9 I have re-run the Vibe BP setup wizard and this time I managed to activate the options on page 2 and 3. I remember now that in the first run I desperately clicked the buttons but they would never change to green. It is a bit weird that one has to click into the text next to the button to activate the options. I think that probably was where the mess on my site started. Have a nice day, WiebkeJuly 23, 2020 at 7:01 am #276935wiebkewetzelSpectatorHello support, thanks for the update to 4.03. I have the site running with the old plugins, Vibe PB and WPLMS deactivated and it is working. I would nevertheless like to use the new plugins and take advantage of the new features. Unfortunately the student dashboard doesn't load after logging in despite being set as student login redirect. Instead I am getting a 404 page.I have tried opening the student dashboard directly with this link: https://websiteURL/members-directory/username/dashboard/ That will also send me to the 404 page. The page "members directory" does exist and can be opened. BTW: the page "groups directory" cannot be opened nor edited with Elementor. Something seems to be broken there. But that's a low priority at the moment. Besides this all links in the VibeBP Loggedin Menu don't work. I have added links in appearance/menus as shown in your screenshot. I took them from the BuddyPress and WPLMS lists without changing anything: It seems as if the custom links are invalid (all of them). At the moment the site is running with WPLMS 4.03 and the old plugins. Thus it is fully functional. But I would still like to use the new plugins before publicly launching courses. Thus help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Wiebke -
