I have about 1,200 courses that are detailed in an Excel file. How can I import this file to WPLMS? I've converted the file to .csv (comma delineated) and tried to use the import feature but it says my file size is too large. My file is 1MB. The limit is 50MB.
any ideas? Thanks?
The import depends on the csv file size and " the number of modules in that csv file ".
The importing cosists of parsing the file and insert mysql queries and this consumes a lot of php memory .
So, try importing courses by breaking the file into some parts so that one csv file have a maximum of 100 courses.
OR
Contact your webhost to increase the php memory limit.
Ok so reducing the file size to just 100 courses worked and the file was successfully uploaded, but It did not populate the Courses section of the site. Where does the file go?
Thank you
Can you share the csv file that you have used to import the 100 courses ?
Yes,
Attached is the CSV file.
Thank you for your help.
We checked the csv file that you sent and found the format of the csv file worng .
This is why the courses did not imported.
To know the correct format just export a csv file in from lmss ->settings ->import/export and then please consider this exported csv file as the sample file to create csv file that you will import .

I think the example cvs file has more than I need to show.
In this picture attached the areas that have a blue box around it is the only part of the course that I want to show. I don't need the parts That have red X on them. I do not want to actually offer the courses, I only want to offer information about courses. So I do not need to have the "Instructor Details", "More courses by", "Take this course", etc.
Do you have a File that I can edit that has a simple version, without all the other stuff?
Thanks
Sorry this si not available as of now in wplms .
If you still need to just display the courses then please rename the file " single-course.php " in wplms theme folder .
OR
Just install and activate the blank child theme .
copy the single-course.php file from the default theme .
Paste it in the child theme .
Now edit the child theme single-course.php file ,just remove the features that you do not want to show .
